2025 Japan Para Wheelchair Rugby Tournament
The 2025 Japan Para Wheelchair Rugby Tournament will be played from Thursday, July 24th to Saturday, July 26th at the Wing Arena Kariya in Aichi Prefecture and features the Japan Wheelchair Rugby Federation (JFW), New Zealand, and South Korea.
The Japanese side has also been announced as the tournament celebrated the 60th anniversary of the founding of the JPSA.
Also at the 2025 Japan Para Wheelchair Rugby Tournament, the Japan National Exhibition Team will play against the third-placed team on the final day.
Japan are currently ranked number 1 in the world, New Zealand are 8th, and South Korea are 14th.
Wing Arena Kariya will be the venue for wheelchair rugby at the 5th Asian Para Games (2026/Aichi-Nagoya) scheduled to be held in October 2026, and the tournament is “an opportunity to raise awareness of wheelchair rugby among people in Aichi Prefecture, Kariya City, and the Tokai region, and work with the Japan Para Sports Association, the organiser of the tournament, to liven up the event”.
