The Asia School Rugby 7s 2026 takes place from January 10-11 at the Dhupatemiya Royalal Thai Air Force Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, with schools from Laos, Malaysia, Pakistan, Chinese Taipei, India, and the hosts involved.*

The Thai Rugby Union confirmed that five Thai schools will be competing and Pol. Lt. Col. Kulthan Prachuabmoh, President of the TRU and the SEARF, said that the Royal Trophy the teams will be competing for was bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and the venue is the same as that which hosted the SEA Games 2o25 in December, at which the Thai women and men won gold.
This is the fourth year the TRU has collaborated with the Thai Red Cross Society for the tournament.
The Thai school teams were invited based on their rankings in the Thailand Rugby Sevens Championship 2025, and the TRU President said via their social media:
“These five schools are considered top-tier in Thai youth rugby. We believe all the athletes will perform their best and achieve victory. We would like to invite the parents of these five schools, as well as Thai rugby fans, to come and support our young athletes.”
