HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens 2021
The HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens and World Rugby made the collective decision to postpone the 2021 edition of the Singapore Sevens until 29-30 October 2021.
This was announced at around the same time the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Rugby Sevens were delayed until November 2021.
UPDATE:
- On August 4 2021, the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens 2021 tournament was cancelled for 2021. There was no comment about the Singapore Sevens on the day.
- On September 3 2021, World Rugby announced changes to the 2021 and 2022 Sevens Series. The Singapore event has been CANCELLED.
Singapore Rugby Sevens 2021
In a statement online, the Singapore event said “The HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens 2021 will now be held on 29-30 October 2021 (Friday – Saturday), which will also see a later start to the tournament game schedule for both days.
With safety and wellbeing of spectators, teams and event personnel as our key priority, organisers will continue to work closely with World Rugby, while taking guidance from the relevant government agencies on all matters relating to COVID-19.”
The organisers said that existing tickets remain valid for the new dates in October next year.
They added, “We look forward to staging a successful 2021 edition of the HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens and thank the Singapore Sevens community for its continued support and understanding.”

The Singapore Rugby Union has also been forced to delay starting their domestic season on a couple of occasions with the leagues scheduled to start in 2021.
