The LITS Super 7s Series is a recent merger between the UK Super Sevens Series and the LIT7s Series, helping create one of the biggest and most prestigious rugby sevens series in Europe.
Both HKCR teams competed in the leg in Oxford, where the men’s team finished third, while the women’s team were runners-up.
The Shelford 7s event features more than 50 teams (including 26 Elite teams, which is the Division the HKCR teams compete in).
You can follow the LITS Super 7s Series online, and tournament results are available on the Tournify app.
HKCR Men’s 7s Dragons Squad – Shelford 7s 2025
HKCR confirmed that changes to the men’s squad from the first leg include the absence of Billy Rigby and Elliott Quinton, who both impressed in the first leg, but Julien Bourron has joined the team. Bourron was also recently announced as part of the Men’s XV squad for the upcoming Asia Rugby Men’s Championship 2025, which doubles as the RWC 2027 Qualifier.
Dylan McCann, Shiven Dukhande, and Blake Elliot all return from injury and are part of an expanded 14-man squad.
Acting Men’s coach Tomos Howells said via HKCR, “We’re looking to do one better than last time, aiming to reach the final and hopefully get the win. This would put us in a favourable position on the standings heading into the final two legs”.
He added that Joe Knight remains as captain and experienced Liam Herbert will be vice-captain as the team play in Pools C at the tournament.
“This is a young group, and Joe is one of our more mature players. He has led the Super Series as captain for a couple of years and has established himself as a leader within the team. Liam’s experience has also been really good with the younger players. Overall, it’s an exciting squad,” explained Howells.
The HKCR men’s team will stay in the UK for a training camp at Cardiff Metropolitan University after the tournament.

HKCR Women’s 7s Dragons Squad – Shelford 7s 2025
For the HKCR women’s side, veteran players Natasha Olson-Thorne and Nam Ka Man have earned a rest after a long season, which sees Chan Wing Kei Yami and Joyce Tse join the squad for the Shelford tournament.
Women’s coach Robbie Fergusson also welcomes back Haruka UEMATSU, who was with the Women’s XV squad for the recent Asia Rugby Women’s Championship in Japan, in which they were runners-up. He said, “She’s a young, exciting player, and we’re keen to see her play more 7s”.
The squad also features experienced leaders, including Jessica Ho and Stephanie Chan. The Women’s HK Dragons 7s are in pool B.
At the Oxford 7s, the women’s team lost the final against Shogun Rugby 31-17, and the team is targeting another final.
Fergusson, who is a former GB and Scotland 7s player, added, “Our expectation is to back up where we left off at leg 1 and hopefully go one step further. It was encouraging to make the final against a strong Shogun side, but we are aware that the opposition has played more tournaments than us. We’ve been working really hard in Hong Kong to make improvements in our game”.
The women will return to the Hong Kong Sports Institute to prepare for the National Pub 7s, set to take place in Harpenden in the UK on Saturday, 21 June. This is the 59th National Pub Sevens.
