HKFC Rugby Appoints Andrew Durutalo as New Director of Rugby Operations
Hong Kong Football Club Rugby Section announced the appointment of a former USA 7s and Olympian, Andrew Durutalo, as their new Director of Rugby Operations.
The well-established rugby club in Hong Kong, which also hosts the HKFC 10s annually, and has produced several Hong Kong China Rugby 7s and 15s players said of the appointment, “Andrew has been a professional rugby player for several years, representing the USA Eagles in both 7s and 15s at the Olympics and the World Cup.
HKFC Rugby Section Chairman Paul Skurr said: “HKFC Rugby is one of the most successful clubs in Asian rugby, and Andrew’s appointment is part of our initiative to be more organised off the pitch and to enhance our overall performance structure on the pitch.
He added, “He brings world-class knowledge in performance, which will elevate our women’s and men’s elite programs, and guide our youth towards representing HKFC in future Olympics and World Cups.”
Andrew Durutalo has competed for USA 7s Rugby at the 2016 Olympics, represented Fiji’s Under 20s team and for the USA Eagles at the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England. In the club game, he played in Super Rugby for the Sunwolves, in the MLR for Seattle Seawolves, and the English Premiership with Worcester Warriors.. Since he retired from playing professional rugby, he has worked in various non-performance roles, including as a sports ambassador for the US Department of State, said HKFC.

My work spans government, startups, and sport organisations in the U.S., Japan, and the Pacific, and I speak English, Japanese, and Fijian fluently.
