The JRFU selected a 26-player touring squad (14 forwards, 12 backs) as the team visits England for a second consecutive year.
Japan Team Captain and Number Eight, Loketi Bruceneol, explained before they left Japan, “As we prepare for the England tour, I will focus on leading the team to unlock and maximise our collective strength. To achieve this, we must unite the individual abilities of the players and secure their commitment to the team. To secure victory over England, we will focus on being fully prepared to achieve our objectives.”

Harlequins Head of Academy, Chim Gale, said: “We’re really looking forward to hosting Japan Under-19s. It’ll be a great test for our Under-19 group to represent Harlequins against international opposition in front of a crowd at The Stoop.
The squad will be a mixture of first-year Senior Academy players, our Under-18s who will have just finished their season, and we’ll be welcoming back some familiar faces from last year’s Under-18s group too, who are now playing BUCS Super Rugby at universities across the country.
Fixtures such as this against an age-grade international side provide the group with valuable exposure and game time against different opposition, which is only going to aid their development.”
