Japan XV Add Australia A Fixture To Busy 2025 Calendar
The Japan Rugby Football Union have confirmed that the Japan XV will host Australia A in a one-off match at Yodoko Sakura Stadium in Osaka on Saturday, October 18 2025. That will be the 5th fixture for the Japanese Men’s development team this year.

The match will take place one week ahead of the Lipovitan D Challenge Cup 2025 fixture between the Brave Blossoms and the Wallabies on Saturday, October 25, at Tokyo’s National Stadium.
At the end of June, Japan XV face Māori All Blacks as part of the Lipovitan D Challenge Cup 2025 at Chichibunomiya Rugby Ground in Tokyo on the back of defeating the New Zealand University side 78-28 and 30-21, and beating a Hong Kong China Representative team 64-12 – all in Japan.
This is a non-capped fixture and is intended to continue to provide Japan a chance to build depth across the national team squad by “giving emerging and fringe players the opportunity to experience high-level international rugby at a near-test match level and intensity”, said the JRFU.
