KL Tigers International Junior Rugby Tournament 2026 Saw 190 Teams from Six Countries Involved

The KL Tigers International Junior Rugby Tournament 2026 was held last weekend after two days of competition at the Bukit Kiara Equestrian Club from 7–8 February 2026, with nearly 200 teams involved.

This 2026 edition marked the tournament’s biggest turnout yet, and the organisers said the event “showcased the region’s best emerging talent, reinforcing Malaysia’s growing role in the international youth rugby landscape. The event welcomed an estimated 8,000 to 10,000 spectators, including families, supporters, and rugby enthusiasts who gathered to cheer on teams from Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Japan and the United Arab Emirates.”

The wide range of age‑group categories spanned from U6 to U18, featuring mixed non‑contact, mixed contact, boys’ contact and girls’ non‑contact divisions, as well as senior veterans at the KL Tigers International Youth Rugby Tournament.

Attila Emam, Club President of KL Tigers Rugby Club, said, “This tournament continues to grow in scale and impact each year, giving young players valuable international exposure while upholding rugby’s core values of teamwork, respect and resilience.

With 2026 being the Visit Malaysia Year, the tournament also highlights Malaysia’s appeal as a sports tourism destination and its growing role as a host for international youth sporting events.”

Pos Malaysia is a proud Tournament and Club Partner of the KL Tigers, providing logistical support and engaging on‑ground activations. Pos Malaysia ensured seamless operations by delivering drinking water for teams and referees and ice for medical requirements.

The tournament also featured special moments such as the match ball delivery by Abang Pos, as well as family‑oriented Tag Team (parent–child) activities. Pos Malaysia further hosted a VIP tent activation for partners and business clients, while its retail booth drew strong interest, selling out the limited‑edition Pos x KL Tigers rugby tee.
