LIT Super Sevens Series 2025 Set To Conclude At Bury St Edmunds

Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club will host the final round of the Lit Super Sevens Series 2025, and the Hong Kong China Women and Men are in action on Saturday, 5th July, to try and compete for top honours in the Elite Divisions.

The HKCR Men are in Pool B with the Tsunami Assassins, Wooden Spoon Marauders, and Stunts, while the Women are in Pool B with Shogun Rugby, Wild Dogs Alpha, and Wooden Spoon Marauders. Both teams are in second place in the overall tournament standings for the Elite Division.
The British Army lead the Men’s standings with 46 points, and the HKCR Men are second with 43 points. The Men were losing finalists in the previous leg. The Hammerheads are third with 41 points, so it’s close at the top.
The victors from the previous round, the Preseli Babas, are pooled with the British Army in Pool A, while Apache and the Hammerheads are in the same Pool D, which means potentially two of the top six teams on the log won’t reach further than the quarter-finals.
For HKCR, they will face one of the top two sides from the Wild Dogs, Godfathers, Kaiviti Rugby Academy or Shogun Rugby in the quarterfinal – so a top finish is within their grasp if they do well at the pool stage.
On the women’s side, the Shogun Rugby side has been in fine form and leads the competition, and they are in the same pool as the HKCR Women. Shogun has 52 points, ten ahead of the China Dragons, with the Hammerheads in third on 38 points, and both the Amazons and Saavy Panthers tied in 4th on 37 points.

Lilian Amazon were the winners in the last round, beating HKCR in the final. For HKCR to have a chance of knocking Shogun off the perch, they will probably need to win the tournament and hope that Shogun doesn’t reach the final four which makes their pool encounter a mini-final.
