2026 HSBC SVNS Series Dates and Venues Mostly Confirmed
The South Africa men (Blitzboks) and New Zealand women (Black Ferns 7s) will try and defend their HSBC SVNS World Champions in new locations for the 2026 HSBC SVNS Series as World Rugby unveiled most dates and locations for the new-look format, which received a lot of criticism when it was announced at the end of last season.
Updated 6 November 2025
All three Asian legs, Dubai, Singapore, and Hong Kong, return as established hosts for the new Series.
World Rugby Chief Executive Officer Alan Gilpin said: “Following a competitive process, we are delighted to confirm the locations and dates for the new-look 2026 HSBC SVNS Series, which features a three-location World Championship, adding to the excitement for fans.
We are delighted with the level of engagement and enthusiasm from cities and unions, who share of vision of advancing Sevens on the world stage ahead of the LA 2028 Olympic Games,” Gilpin added.
World Rugby added that the Series ensures “full gender parity maintained across all rounds, with combined men’s and women’s events and equal participation fees.”

2025 Emirates Dubai 7s said online, “Sports fans are in for a treat – we’ve got 584 teams competing in rugby, netball, cricket, padel, and fitness tournaments, with players flying in from 30+ countries. Plus, the world’s best men’s and women’s rugby sevens teams will be here for the first leg of the HSBC SVNS 2025/26 season.
But it’s not just about sport. As usual, the festival transforms into a music paradise, featuring four stages of local and international DJs and artists, as well as A-list headliners.”
SA Rugby said that early ticket buyers will be offered free beer, “The first 500 fans to purchase R350 tickets in the Party Stand – where fans traditionally come in their finest fancy dress – will receive a free drink voucher, while a ticket for a family of four for a full day’s action costs just R750, with seating reserved in blocks 105 to 112.”
A Rugby CEO Rian Oberholzer added, “We’re very excited to announce the return of HSBC SVNS to Cape Town for the next three years. With the new tournament model, we envisage high-octane rugby from all the teams from the get-go, with no place to hide as only the top two teams in the respective pools will progress to the semi-finals.”
He added, “It’s the ultimate blend of sport and lifestyle. From edge-of-your-seat matches on the field to music, food, and culture, it’s more than a tournament – it’s a celebration.”
The US event location will be announced in due course, said World Rugby. LA has failed to generate positive feedback from those we have spoken to, even though it will be the venue for the LA 2028 Olympic Games Sevens.
The GM of Singapore Rugby, Sidney Kumar, posted online, “Cat’s out of the bag! 3-year cycle for the revamped SVNS series kickstarts in Jan 2026 for Singapore. Looking forward to working with partners to deliver a uniquely singapore SVNS event!
