Asian School Rugby Sevens Championship 2025
The Asian School Rugby Sevens Championship will take place in Hong Kong at King’s Park from 9-10 August 2025, and the fourth edition of the tournament will be contested by seven boys’ representative teams.

Hong Kong China, in hosting the 2025 edition alongside the Schools Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China, said the tournament traditionally occurs every three years; however, it was cancelled in 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hong Kong China has won the first three editions of the championship, with the most recent tournament being held in Malaysia in 2019. They have seen senior Men’s Hong Kong China XVs and 7s representative players such as Paul Altier, Jack Abbott, and Liam Herbert compete in previous editions of this tournament.
Both of the previous finals have been close affairs with HK beating Malaysia 17-14 in the 2019 final, and defeating Thailand in Hong Kong 14-7 in the final in 2016.

Hong Kong China Playing Squad
Eligible players must be studying in Hong Kong and have resided in the region for a minimum of three years. HKCR reported that there were 100 nominations from schools across Hong Kong, and the final squad of twelve U18 players were selected.
Four members of the HKCR Hysan Academy secured spots in the final squad (Lu Ho Sun, Kaze Ndassi Denzel Edward, Li Tak Nam, and Leung Tik Wai Tane).
Recently capped HKCR Men’s XV senior player Joe Barker, who won the Asia Rugby Men’s Championship to qualify for RWC 2027, is the team Manager and coach.
