The Emirates Dubai 7s Long Lunch 2025 will take place on Friday, 12th September and the guests for the annual Long Lunch are retired former England international Ben Youngs, former Australia and recent Leicester Head Coach Michael Cheika, with Martin Bayfield as the host.
The organisers said, “Join us on 12th September for another spectacular afternoon of great food, drinks and star-studded company from the world of rugby whilst supporting Dubai 7s for Good at the Intercontinental Hotel, Dubai Festival City.”
Guests – Emirates Dubai 7s Long Lunch 2025
Emirates Dubai 7s confirmed the guests for the annual Long Lunch, adding “Ben and Michael will be joining us for a spectacular afternoon of great food and drinks as they share anecdotes on stage and mingle with guests. Already confirmed as host for the evening is England rugby’s Martin Bayfield, so it’s set to be another unforgettable Long Lunch afternoon!”
The Long Lunch aims to fundraise initiatives for Dubai 7s for Good. The 2024 Long Lunch had special guests Will Greenwood & Matt Giteau and raised AED 580,000 for the Dubai 7s For Good programme in Uganda.
They added that the funds raised in 2025 “directly empower projects like those at North Road Primary (Uganda) and help fulfil the programme’s broader mission, which is using sport to enrich lives and build understanding across borders.”
Ben Youngs
England’s most-capped men’s player, the scrumhalf, retired this past year after being a veteran of four Rugby World Cups, a five-time Premiership champion with Leicester Tigers, and winning four Six Nations titles. He was is a British & Irish Lion.
Michael Cheika
The Australian coach has won top-level club titles in both hemispheres and previously led the Wallabies to the Rugby World Cup Final in 2015. He achieved a Champions Cup victory with Leinster in 2009 and a Super Rugby title with the NSW Waratahs in 2014. He led Leicester Tigers to the 2025 Gallagher Premiership final and has since left that role.
He has also been involved with the Lebanon Rugby League team.
Emirates Dubai 7s 2025
Emirates Dubai 7s will be held at The Sevens Stadium from Friday 28th – Sunday 30th November 2025, and registrations for teams wishing to participate in Rugby, Netball, and Cricket have been open since March 2025.
There are also 2 additional categories for this year’s invitational Rugby tournaments: International “Super” Social (Men) and International Social (Women).
