HKFC World Youth 10s 2026 A Huge Success
The HKFC World Youth 10s 2026 took place from 11-12 April in Hong Kong, and backed by HSBC as the founding partner of the tournament, thousands of youths participated and were engaged in some excellent rugby, forged new friendships, and met a celebrated range of ambassadors who were in attendance across the successful weekend.

More Than 200 Teams Were Involved
The HKFC World Youth 10s 2026 tournament comprised 235 teams from 48 clubs across 17 divisions from U5 to U18. The global participation spanned six geographic origins – predominantly Hong Kong, alongside teams from Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and the USA.
The large‑scale youth rugby tournament is firmly rooted in the Hong Kong rugby community, while maintaining a clear regional dimension.
The tournament is estimated to have involved approximately 2,400 players across U5-U18 divisions, and approximately 60%+ of players were in the U5-U8 age groups. This means the event’s strong mini‑rugby core was clear for all to see, and it truly is the World’s Best Youth 10s Tournament!

The tournament could not have been a hit without the invaluable coaches, referees, volunteers and parents, and their presence on‑site means the attendance would comfortably have exceeded 5,000 people over the weekend.
The tournament organisers said, “Seeing the HKFC World Youth 10s come to life after a year of planning was an incredibly proud moment. What made it truly special was watching our vision become a reality that others could see and feel. Every young player on that pitch was treated like a professional athlete, surrounded by world-class talent, in one of Asia’s most exciting sporting cities.
This tournament was always about more than just rugby. It was about creating an unforgettable experience for the kids, welcoming international teams to discover Hong Kong as the sporting mecca it is becoming in Asia, and playing our part in kicking off Rugby Week in the most fitting way possible. To see that resonate so strongly in its very first year was beyond what we could have hoped for.”

At peak times, the tournament schedule supported up to 10 matches being played simultaneously, reflecting the scale and logistical intensity of the event.
The fixtures were hosted across multiple venues in Hong Kong, including HKFC (Main Pitch & Hockey Pitch), Happy Valley (HV1, HV6, HV8), Causeway Bay Ground, SCAA and HKU Stanley Ho, enabling a compact yet high‑throughput tournament footprint in the spirit of the Hong Kong Sevens week.
