The Japan Rugby Football Union’s Asia-Oceania Rugby Exchange Festival 2026 takes place from 17-18 January and features youth teams from Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, and Australia.

The event was started as a legacy project for the RWC 2019, which was hosted by Japan for the first time, and the first event took place in 2018. In 2022, which was the third edition, it was expanded to include youth teams from the Oceania region for the first time, as it aims to promote and develop rugby in Asia, Oceania, and Japan.
The participating teams will play a 7s tournament and a range of cultural activities at the JRFU’s JAPAN BASE (Fukuoka City).

In total, six men’s and women’s teams from Asia and Oceania, as well as six men’s and women’s teams from Japan, will participate in the Rugby Exchange Fest.
The Thailand Girls & Boys U14 team will be accompanied by TRU Vice President as well as Mr. Jesada Athipongwanich, an advisor to the association, who will also be accompanying them. The Boys and Girls Thai teams comprise representatives from several schools across Thailand.
