Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 Draw – What To Know
The Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 Draw will be held from 20:00 AEDT (GMT+11) on Wednesday, 3 December 2025 and will feature a set of special guest presenters.
Men’s Rugby World Cup Australia 2027 will be held between 1 October and 13 November 2027 and will be the first tournament to feature an expanded format contested by the world’s top 24 teams. Hong Kong China from Asia have qualified for their first-ever Men’s RWC.
RWC 2027 Draw Format
The World Rugby Men’s Rankings at the end of the November internationals were used to create four bands of six teams, with each band drawn randomly into Pool A, B, C, D, E or F.
Australia already know they are in Pool A as (A2) and as the host nation will contest the opening game on 1 October 2027. The Wallabies are currently in Band 2, so a team from Band 1 will be drawn and placed in Pool A, to join Australia.
- Teams will be drawn randomly starting in Band 4, then 3, 2 and 1.
- Within each band, the 1st drawn team will go to Pool F, then Pool E, D, etc.
