The third round of the Taiyo Seimei WSS 2025 takes place at the Hanazono Stadium from August 2-3, with 12 Japanese women’s Sevens teams competing for the top 8 spots to qualify for the Grand Final Tournament in Sapporo.

It’s a crucial third and final round under the new tournament format, as only the top 8 teams of the log after round 3 will play in the Grand Final Tournament in Sapporo on August 17, 2025, at the Daiwa House Premist Dome.
The bottom four teams will play to stay in the top flight. Those teams currently are Artemi-Stars, Venus (Otemae University Women’s Rugby Club), Arukas Queen Kumagaya and the Challenge Team.
There were different winners and placements across the opening two legs, so there is everything to play for as every game should be treated like a final with every log point crucial.
The JRFU has said that “Due to heat countermeasures, the Hanazono Tournament will start earlier than usual.”
WSS Tournament 3 Hanazono Pools 2025
The JRFU confirmed the pools for the third and final regular round, to be held at Hanazono, which will take place in Higashi-Osaka from August 2 to 3, 2025, at the Hanazono Rugby Stadium.
