World Tens Series 2021 Postponed
The organisers of the World Tens Series 2021 have confirmed the rugby tournament is postponed and will only likely resume in 2022. The inaugural series launched in 2020 in Bermuda and 2021 was due to take place in Florida.
In an official announcement on July 7, 2021, World Tens Series (WTS) said: “Due to restraints around international travel and increased COVID-19 restrictions (especially around global sporting events) the World Tens Series has had to make the difficult and unfortunate decision to postpone this year’s event.
The decision has been made in the best interest of the players and the teams. During this time it has become increasingly difficult to ensure the safety, logistics and travel of 8 international franchise teams from across the globe.”
In the first edition of the World Tens Series in 2020, seven teams had been announced. SX10 beat Ohio Aviators in the final of the WTS Cup at the National Sports Complex in Hamilton, Bermuda.
Along with our new sponsors and partners, we are all excited to work aggressively towards the 2022 season and continually grow this new and exciting pro format in global sports entertainment.”
The World Tens Series say that the dates and venues for August 2022 have been confirmed.
